The Quail Hill Barracudas have just been crowned the2010 Division Champions at the Irvine Swim League Championship Meet on Saturday, August 14th! The Quail Hill Swim Team won First Place in ALL of the following age divisions as well!: 5 & 6 year olds, 7 & 8 year olds, 11 & 12 year olds, 13 & 14 year olds, 15 - 18 year olds! Congrats to all of our swimmers and coaches who gave a tremendous effort!
A special congratulations too to our 5/6 year old Medley Relay team of Hannah Jin, Brett Ennen, Charlotte Waddell, and Zachary Waddell who broke a 21 year-old league record by 2.5 seconds!
The results speak for themselves about our great coaches, committed swimmers, and dedicated families! Congrats to all!

Map to the Commons Pool for Visiting TeamsAs one of the most active and enthusiastic teams in the Irvine Swim League (ISL), we are excited about the 2010 summer swim season for our kids and families. We want all our families and swimmers to feel welcome, and a part of our swim team! Our season began on Monday, June 7, led by some of the best professional coaches in Southern California.
Benefits There are many benefits of the Quail Hill Swim Team (QHST) to the community of Irvine, including bringing families together, teaching our kids a valuable lifetime skill, improving our kids' health and self-esteem, and providing fun competition against other Irvine community teams. The QHST was formed by a group of parents in Quail Hill who simply want to help our kids and bring families in the surrounding area together. Currently, there are 19 swim teams in Irvine with approximately 2,000 participating children (ages 5 to 18). Of course, the Quail Hill Barracudas are the newest and most enthusiastic team – we are ready to go for the 2010 season!
Swim Season Our 2010 Swim Season begins on June 1st and lasts through August 14th. Registration is open to the first 120 registrations (maximum allowed by the ISL). In addition to daily practices, we compete in Saturday swim meets against other community swim teams throughout Irvine, in addition to an Irvine championship meet with all 19 teams.
Our Coaches We are proud to have one of the top professional swim coaches in Southern California, Coach Rod Hansen, as our head coach! With many years of experience, including the coaching of high school and Olympic swimmers, Coach Rod is a lead coach on the internationally renowned Irvine NOVA swim team. As one of the top swim programs in the United States, NOVA has produced many Olympic Gold Medalists such as Amanda Beard, Aaron Piersol, and Jason Lezak. We are truly privileged to have such a high-level coach, and his team of top-notch assistants, joining our Quail Hill Swim Team! They love to teach kids of all ages – beginning swimmers and advanced swimmers alike.
Get Involved There are many volunteer opportunities for parents and families to get involved in the organizational and leadership aspects of the Quail Hill Swim Team – and we welcome your participation. More important than any other organized sports, the success of our swim team and our swim meets does rely on the volunteer participation of the parents – and so it is a requirement for being a part of our team. Also, as a non-profit organization, we depend on donations to help pay for our equipment and on-going costs. We offer different levels of sponsorships, including advertising, to local businesses and professionals.
